Yarraq is a ransomware that encrypts files by using asymmetric keys and adding '.yarraq' as extension to the end of filenames.

Background

Yarraq is ransomware that locks files using asymmetric encryption and appends the '.yarraq' extension to each affected filename. When documented, the operator demanded a $2000 payment in exchange for a decryptor that would let victims recover their original files. Victims are directed to reach the attacker through the email address cyborgyarraq@protonmail.ch.
