Malware

Vobfus

aka Beebone

Malware of this family searches for computers on a network and creates copies of itself in folders with open access.

Vobfus, also known as Beebone, is a Windows malware family.

Background

Samples in this family scan the network for other machines and drop copies of themselves into shared or openly accessible folders. Activation depends on a user manually executing the file on their system. The malware is written in Visual Basic and relies heavily on obfuscation, a hallmark of the family, which makes the job of analyzing it harder for anti-virus products.
