Background

MITRE describes Turian as a backdoor employed by BackdoorDiplomacy against Ministries of Foreign Affairs, telecommunications firms, and charities across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Initially documented in 2021, Turian is thought to be connected to Quarian, an earlier backdoor whose last known use was in 2013 against diplomatic targets in Syria and the United States.
