Background

PCrisk identifies Sekhmet as ransomware. It works by encrypting a victim's data and then demanding a ransom in exchange for decryption. As it encrypts, every affected file receives an appended extension made up of random characters (for example ".HrUSsw", ".WNgh", ".NdWfEr", etc.).
