According to IBM Security X-Force, this is a new but functionally very similar version of RansomExx, fully rewritten in Rust and internally referred to as RansomExx2.

RansomExx2 is a Linux ransomware.

Background

IBM Security X-Force describes this as a fresh build of RansomExx whose behavior closely matches the original, but which has been completely rewritten in Rust and is internally named RansomExx2.
