PCrisk describes PixPirate as a hazardous Android banking Trojan equipped to perform ATS (Automatic Transfer System) attacks. Through this technique, operators can move funds automatically via the Pix Instant Payment platform relied on by many Brazilian banks.

Beyond its ATS functionality, PixPirate is able to read and erase SMS messages, block attempts to uninstall it, and conduct malvertising campaigns.
