PetrWrap

PetrWrap is a Windows malware family.

Background

The PetrWrap Trojan is coded in C and built with MS Visual Studio. It embeds a copy of the Petya ransomware v3 within its data section and leverages Petya to compromise the victim's system. Beyond that, PetrWrap supplies its own cryptographic routines and patches Petya's code at runtime to govern how it runs, letting the operators behind PetrWrap conceal their reliance on Petya during the infection.
