IRATA is a Android malware family.
Background
Per redpiranha, IRATA (Iranian Remote Access Trojan) is a recently identified piece of Android malware seen in the wild. Infections begin with SMS phishing, where the message is dressed up to look like an official government notice prompting the recipient to install the malicious app. Once on a device, IRATA can harvest sensitive data such as banking details, and because it has access to the phone it can also read incoming SMS messages, which can then be leveraged to capture 2FA tokens.
