InfinityLock

InfinityLock ransomware is a type of malicious software that encrypts a victim's files and demands a ransom payment in order to decrypt them.

InfinityLock is a Windows malware family.

Background

InfinityLock is a ransomware family that locks a victim's files through encryption and then demands payment to restore access. It propagates via phishing messages and compromised websites. After infecting a machine, it encrypts valuable content like documents, photos, and videos, then presents a note instructing the victim to pay $1,000 in Bitcoin to recover the data. Should the ransom go unpaid, the affected files are permanently lost.
