HinataBot is a Linux botnet.

Background

HinataBot is a DDoS-oriented botnet written in Go. During the first quarter of 2023 it was seen going after HTTP and SSH endpoints by abusing dated vulnerabilities and weak credentials. Its infection paths include attacks on the miniigd SOAP service in Realtek SDK devices (CVE-2014-8361), Huawei HG532 routers (CVE-2017-17215), and internet-facing Hadoop YARN servers.
