EternalPetya, also known as ExPetr, Pnyetya, Petna, NotPetya, is a Windows malware family operated by TeleBots and Sandworm.

Background

Proofpoint describes Bad Rabbit as a ransomware strain that surfaced in 2017 and is believed to be a Petya variant. As with other ransomware, a Bad Rabbit infection locks down the victim's machines, servers, or files and withholds access until a ransom, typically paid in Bitcoin, is handed over.
