Malware
Deprimon
According to ESET Research, DePriMon is a malicious downloader, with several stages and using many non-traditional techniques.
Deprimon is a Windows malware family operated by DePriMon.
Background
ESET Research characterizes DePriMon as a multi-stage malicious downloader that relies on numerous unconventional methods. It persists by registering a new local port monitor, an approach catalogued under the “Port Monitors” technique in MITRE ATT&CK, and it does so using the name “Windows Default Print Monitor” — the origin of the DePriMon name. Its complexity and modular design lead researchers to regard it as a framework.
DePriMon has been operational since at least March 2017, appearing in a private company in Central Europe as well as on dozens of machines across the Middle East.
