Malware

DarkComet

aka Breut · Fynloski · klovbot

DarkComet is one of the most famous RATs, developed by Jean-Pierre Lesueur in 2008.

DarkComet, also known as Breut, Fynloski, klovbot, is a Windows malware family operated by APT33, Lazarus Group and others.

Background

DarkComet is among the best-known RATs, written by Jean-Pierre Lesueur in 2008. Lesueur ceased development of the trojan after it was deployed during the 2011 Syrian civil war. The tool grants control over a compromised machine through a straightforward graphical interface, and analysts attribute its widespread adoption largely to this ease of use.
