Background
Kaspersky GReAT and AMR report that TajMahal is a previously unseen and technically advanced APT framework that Kaspersky Lab uncovered in autumn 2018. This complete espionage platform is split into two packages called Tokyo and Yokohama, bundling backdoors, loaders, orchestrators, C2 communicators, audio recorders, keyloggers, screen and webcam capture tools, stealers for documents and cryptographic keys, and even a dedicated file indexer for the victim's machine. As many as 80 malicious modules were found inside its encrypted Virtual File System, among the largest plugin counts ever observed in an APT toolset.
