Because every buyer uses it differently, BitRAT is harder to contain, appearing in trojanized software, phishing, and watering hole campaigns. Its appeal stems from its versatility: it can exfiltrate data, bypass UAC, launch DDoS attacks, monitor the clipboard, hijack the webcam, steal credentials, record audio, mine cryptocurrency via XMRig, and perform general keylogging.
