Background

Bashlite is a malware family that compromises Linux systems to carry out distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. It was once also called Bashdoor, though that name now denotes the exploit technique the malware employs. The botnet has been responsible for attacks reaching as high as 400 Gbps.
