Background
As described by f-secure, Ardamax is a commercial keylogger that users can download and install from the vendor's website. Once active, it logs a variety of user activity, including typed keystrokes, instant-messenger chat transcripts, web browsing, and even screenshots of the current desktop.
It can be set to operate in fully stealth mode with password protection so the user does not notice it.
Collected data is saved to an encrypted log file that can only be opened with the program's built-in Log Viewer. That log can then be delivered to a third party by e-mail, over a local area network (LAN), or by uploading it to an FTP server, either as HTML or in encrypted form.
