Background

Amadey is a botnet that surfaced around October 2018 and trades for roughly $500 on Russian-speaking hacking forums. At regular intervals it transmits details about the host and any installed AV software to its C2 server while polling for instructions. Its principal feature is the ability to deliver additional payloads, referred to as "tasks", either to every infected machine or to specific targets.
